Military Veterans Program Launches Civilian Careers for Former Soldiers

Congratulations to the latest United Brotherhood of Carpenters Military Veterans Program (MVP) graduating class of 2024!

The MVP program helps soldiers transition out of the U.S. Army and into careers as carpenters or millwrights. The Mid-South Carpenters Training program helps present the course in Clarksville, TN for soldiers from nearby Fort Campbell.

The graduates and those who supported the veterans as they launched civilian careers are here, left-to-right: (Standing) Kerry Fisher, Universal Plant Services; Mike Dugan, Central Midwest Millwright Representative; Millwright James Humphries; Millwright Peyton Anderson; Josh Fox, Central Midwest Millwright Representative; Millwright Zachary Hunter; Esther Freeman, MVP Millwright Instructor; Millwright Devin Bonner; Tammy Souder, Ft. Campbell Spousal Center Representative; William Condon, Southeastern Carpenters Millwright Representative Jon Hart, Central Midwest Interior Systems Instructor; (Kneeling) Millwright William Albert, and Carpenter Brandon Leon.

Program participants take part in a free, eight-week training program, which gives military vets basic skill sets with hands-on projects for real-world experience as carpenters or millwrights. Once civilians, these veterans have the option to join the United Brotherhood of Carpenters as a second-year apprentice.
