Congratulations to three military veterans who took advantage of an exclusive training program at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, designed to transform their military skills into the foundation of a career in union construction.
Meredith G. Palmer, Jared Soto, and Patric Covarrubias recently graduated from the the UBC’s award-winning Military Veterans Program, presented by the Mid-South Carpenters Training Trust Fund (MSCTTF).
The Military Veterans Program helps soldiers transition out of the U.S. Army and into careers as carpenters or millwrights. Program participants take part in a free, eight-week training program and learn the basic skill set of a first-year apprentice, using hands-on projects in real-world conditions. Once civilians, these veterans become members of a UBC Local Union as a second-year apprentice and get to work!
