James “Jimmy” Harold Sims Has Passed Away

A beloved part-time instructor at our East Tennessee Training Center as well as the ITC in Las Vegas, James "Jimmy" Harold Sims, passed away at the age of 58 on May 19, 2024.


Jimmy was born December 6, 1965, in Sevierville to Tommy and Janella Sims. He was a loving husband, father, and pop. He used his many talents to serve the Lord as a devout Christian. His skill as an incredible fiddle player and master carpenter was evident to all who knew him. He was also a member of the Avery Masonic Lodge #593 F&AM. He worked as a training instructor for carpenters Local Union 50 and at the UBC's International Training Center in Las Vegas.


Jimmy loved the outdoors and working on his little farm with his beloved wife, Robin. He will be laid to rest while honoring his Scottish Ancestry. He is survived by his wife, Robin Evans Sims; children, Kendall (Olivia), Kevin, and Paige (Austin); grandchildren, Aurora, Harper, Ellie, and Riley; parents, Tommy and Janella Sims; brother, Roger (Krissy) Sims; sister, Mary Beth (Brent) Clarke; brother and sisters-in-law, Donna (Joey) Housley, Randy (Sally) Evans, and Sue (Don) Martin; many nieces and nephews; beloved fur-baby, Trooper.


He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Guy and Dixie Sims and Paul and Lillard Sutton, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Clarence and Mildred Evans.

  

James will be missed by all who knew him for his friendly personality and his wealth of knowledge of his craft.
